Achieving what seemed impossible

Posted in Blog

I’m writing this a mile above the pacific ocean listening to a podcast that I originally heard 1 year ago.  Anton Kraly and Johnny FD are talking about last year’s DSLprogram.com retreat.  I remember listening to this podcast last year and imagining how cool it would be to go to Thailand for next years retreat.  It took me three more months to sign up for DSLprogram.com, but when I did, I made a list of goals I wanted to achieve with this course.

The first short term goal I had was to make my first sale.  It took me a little over a month of working on my drop shipping store and sending traffic for a couple weeks before I accomplished that goal.  But achieving that goal was an amazing feeling.  It might sound funny to you, but I remember running out to the living room and jumping up and down while I exclaimed to my wife that I got my first sale.  (She laughed pretty hard at me for doing so)  I was like a little kid just getting the news that school was cancelled for a snow day.  It is a wonderful feeling knowing that all of the hard work you put in has really paid off.

My second short term goal was to make $1,000 profit a month.  It took a couple of months to hit this goal, but hitting it really made me believe in what I was doing.  I truly believed at that point that I could turn this drop shipping store into a full time income.  I quickly went to my notebook where I had written my goals down, and wrote down a new goal of $2,000 profit a month.  And within 2 months time, I had achieved this goal too!  I blew it out of the water!  I had officially replaced my full time income with just one store.  It really got me thinking, what if I open another?  And another???

I also set one goal the day I signed up for DSLprogram.com that seemed unachievable when I wrote it down.  My goal was to go to the 2015 Drop Ship Lifestyle Retreat in Krabi Thailand.  Neither myself nor my wife had ever left the United States at this point in our lives.  Flying half way around the world on profits solely from a drop shipping store that I hadn’t even begun building seemed a bit of a stretch.  But I wrote it down.  And as you can tell by the first sentence of this blog post I achieved it.  My wife and I are sitting in the exit row of an Airbus 380 as I write this and we couldn’t be more excited.

Angie and I wedding day
4 years already!

We decided to go early to Krabi and spend some time relaxing.  Yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary, so this trip is a gift to both of us as well.  Massages and coconuts on the beach seems like the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.  We are also going to stay in Thailand after the retreat and head up to the digital nomad hub Chiang Mai.  Many entrepreneurs have chosen to make this city their home base at some point in their journey and I want to see why.  They all speak highly of this city so I’m sure the Mrs. and I will have a great time.

One year ago today, I could’ve never guessed that my life would have changed this dramatically.  I have a drop shipping store that generates more income than my 9-5 and we are on a plane headed for Thailand.  Life certainly can change very quickly when you set goals and Take Consistent Action.

A special thanks to Anton Kraly for making DSLprogram.com and for putting on this retreat.  I can’t say one man has changed my life more than you have, and I’m extremely grateful.

If you are sitting at home reading this and want to change your life too, sign up for DSLprogram.com and get to work!  Set goals, Take Consistent Action and I will see you at next years retreat!!

Our view when we showed up at the retreat.

Hello and welcome to you and your wife.

I loved reading what you have done with your system and travels.

While I am a beginner with the course and learning all kinds of things that are new to me I am planning to be successful like you have done.

    Congratulations to you both.
